" My experience starting and leading the Youth International Summit, an international organization designed for students, has been eye-opening. I realized the immense potential held by Gen Z in collaboratively addressing global issues, and I look forward to connecting with Millennium Fellows on new perspectives and approaches to the UN SDG's. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Youth International Summit

I organize virtual events for students in different countries to attend for free. From Model UN Conferences, to career skills workshops, to regional community-building, I want to offer students a diverse range of extracurricular opportunities to add to their resume. I am working on adding a career and opportunities fair, as well as a mentorship program, to our offerings. To organize all of this, I lead a team of over 140 students who hold various leadership positions and gain communication/leadership skills through their role in Youth International Summit. This organization has operated for almost 2 years now and has reached thousands of students across 120+ countries.

About the Millennium Fellow

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Taryn Riddle is a rising sophomore at Harvard University. Her academic interests are focused on social entrepreneurship, specifically the capability of both nonprofits and for-profit organizations to contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals. She enjoys studying this on a macro scale (international development and poverty economics) and on a micro scale (gaining experience with executive management of organizations/businesses). With a global context in mind, she is double-majoring in Economics and South Asian Studies as well as an Arabic minor at Harvard, and really enjoys learning languages and traveling. She has studied Hindi for 7 years, and attended school in Pune, India for 7 weeks in summer 2019. Her primary focus over the past few years has been leading the Youth International Summit, a free, international student-led conference on global affairs and leadership. She spent summer 2022 interning with Veritas Impact Partners, a national nonprofit focused on helping families in low-income housing, and is looking forward to connecting with students worldwide on the next steps for entreprenurship in the context of the SDG's.
