Millennium Fellowship Project: Mitigating Multidimensional Inequalities Amongst Remote Communities

To gain real benefits while achieving SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) in remote communities, we must lay the groundwork in SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Reduced Inequalities) (Gender Equality).
As a result, while we want to reap the benefits of SDG 10, our project will go beyond the lines drawn by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals in order to build our society holistically. While doing so, we will strive to meet SDG 10.3, which emphasizes ensuring equal opportunity and reducing outcome inequalities by mobilizing policymaking and efficient legislation to address and eliminate discriminatory outcomes in economic, social, political, and legal inclusion. Our tangential goals will be to address SDGs 4 AND 5, and we will do it as follows:

SDG 4: At this time, it is critical to realize our advantage in attending one of India's top legal schools. The advantages of having a liberal climate around the university campus have introduced us to various think tanks - Girl UpRise, Indian Forum for Public Diplomacy, Global Youth - socially oriented alumni, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with similar interests to ours. Thus, we intend to collaborate and organize our efforts with such NGOs in order to increase the standard of elementary education in our community through various seminars and educational programs in our community's underserved areas.

SDG 5: Gender Equality remains a barrier in both connected and remote areas, and our goal is to spread awareness through informative modules in local languages (with translation to respective dialects) and physical and virtual seminars and conferences with authorities in the sphere, as well as shaping the model to be stakeholder centric.
SDG 10 has several dimensions for eliminating disparities. Education and gender are two of the most important issues. The concept of an egalitarian society necessitates the presence of high-quality education and gender equality, as these are the carriers of social justice and the realization of the ideal of equal opportunity.
As a result, our initiative will address current disparities in our society by addressing the lack of quality education structured within a gender-centric framework in order to develop an all-inclusive culture for future generations.

About the Millennium Fellow

Vatsal Jain is a young, bright sophomore currently pursuing his bachelor in Law in Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur. He is a native of Jaipur, Rajashthan and currently resides in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Moving from one tribal rich state to other has added to his already vast knowledge and commitment for social equality, justice and interest in tribal affairs. Though he has attended many conclaves and conferences to understand the nuances of tribal affairs better, but has not had any opportunity for practically applying his knowledge to this side. By being in the field of advocacy and leadership he intends to impact the lives of vulnerable communities in a positive attitude.
