Project description:
Challenge - DISEASE BURDEN ON HEALTH SYSTEM OF PAKISTAN
According to statistics, Pakistan is facing a lot of burden on healthcare system due to communicable as well as non-communicable diseases. This effect was particularly highlighted when the pandemic arose, demanding attention to be given to the system of healthcare.
Impact- why is DISEASE BURDEN a CHALLENGE

ECONOMIC IMPACT
- the cumulative health expenditure by federal and provincial govt went up by 14.35 % from 421.78b last year 2019-2020 to 482.27 billion in 2021-2022
Budget getting inflated at high level.
Clear indication of deterioration of health system if preventive steps not taken in time.
SOCIAL IMPACT
Mental stress
People keeping the diseased aloof
Patients unable to fulfill their roles as member of society and as a member of family
Overall hierarchy of society getting disturbed

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM OUR PLAN?
We expect that imparting the knowledge to people, who normally have no idea about it, or those who usually ignore it, will help to lessen the disease burden and spread on disease in the first place. The health and lifestyle of people will improve and this will eventually lead to a better society

About the Millennium Fellow

Dilawaiz Faisal is a bright, globally competitive Medical student doing her MBBS from King Edward Medical College. She was born in Pakistan. Resides in Islamabad. Dilawaiz has always been passionate about her work. Helping others is is her utmost ambition, after seeing the situation, the type of treatment given to the patients, the way they are treated by doctors. She has been an active member of the different societies that work for the welfare of patients. She used to buy toys and distributed them in child ward, Mayo Hospital Lahore. She is very passionate in her field. Still she is looking for a platform where she can fulfil her all dreams.
