Millennium Fellowship Project: Badili Project

Project Description: Climate Action
Project Goal:
To raise awareness about climate action and tree planting through a series of informative webinars.
Our target arget Audience will largely be the general public, with a focus on students, young professionals, and community groups.
The webinar topics in the webinars will be ; the role of Youth in ocean conservation and the second webinar will be based on the effect of ocean pollution to marine ecosystems.

These will largely be based around the science of climate change, the impacts of climate change, cimate action solutions, including tree planting.
Each webinar will be 60-90 minutes long and will feature a presentation from an expert on the topic, followed by a Q&A session. Webinars will be recorded and made available online after the event.


The project is expected to Increase awareness of climate action and tree planting among the target audience as well as increased understanding of the science of climate change and its impacts and increased knowledge of climate action solutions
Increased motivation to get involved in climate actiion.

The Badili project is a timely and important project that will help to raise awareness about climate action and tree planting among the general public. By educating and empowering people to take action, the project will help to build a more sustainable future for all

About the Millennium Fellow

Maangi Moraa Joy who is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Nairobi School of Law is an enthusiast of innovation, invention and humanity. She has a colossal inclination towards humanitarianism and environmentalism. Her interests have led her to engage in activities ranging from the International Commission of the Red Cross (ICRC) writing on humanitarian action, undergoing the Certified Training Program(CTP), writing in the UNEP committee under the Kenya Model United Nations, and serving as a deaconess. She has also undergone the mediation training and is a Certified Professional Mediator (CPM), a task in which she takes pride as she gets to achieve a consensus with parties in a conflict.
