ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows. 

During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: 100 Degrees

100 Degrees is a podcast that exists to demystify climate change among Generation Z and to promote practical ways of living that help reduce the carbon footprint of the target generation.

The podcast uses storytelling and creative tropes to effectively communicate complex terminologies and scientific terms in such a way that they are understood by the target audience. At the end of every episode, there is a section where life hacks that are aimed at environmental sustainability.

So far, there have been ninety eight regular listeners and a constant stream of follow up emails to each episode.

About the Millennium Fellow

Kwadwo Agyarko is a senior at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana where he is studying Electrical Engineering. After graduating college, he hopes to pursue a career in energy efficiency and climate studies with a specific focus on developing economies and third world countries. He believes that by developing reliable alternative sources of energy and transforming energy policy, these countries can accelerate the growth of their local industries and build sustainable livelihoods.
