UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT MADHUR JINDAL, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2020.

IIT Madras | Chennai, India | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 9

" I am excited to be part of the Millennium Fellowship because it is a great opportunity for me to bring about a change on how mental health is considered in India. I will see this achieved when students and the millennials could come out and talk freely of their mental weaknesses. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: D-Well

DWELL aims to achieve digital health and well being in the age of growing depression, mental illness and human suffering due to excessive use of digital technology. There has been an ever-increasing rate of despondency in teenagers thus leading to an increase in the number of suicides attempts all over the country, majorly due to lack of socializing. Thus, the Millennium Fellows aim at reducing the unhealthy and overuse of digital technology, thus improving human interactions. They set off with three sectors starting in Tamil Nadu; the first two being school students and college students-
which included detoxification sessions, book reading sessions, beach-walks, garden sessions including- newspaper reading, silhouette painting, glass painting and a visit toold age homes. They also plan to collaborate with MITR and SAATHI, organizations that cater to student wellness in the institute, to conduct telepsychiatry and digital therapy. The third sector is SMEs (Small and Medium Scale Enterprises) whom we help to venture into art startups for better outreach and organizing awareness sessions in the local dialects. The aim is to create a socially healthy environment for people of all age groups.

About the Millennium Fellow

Currently 19, Madhur Jindal is the introverted guy who likes being in his own space. From the initial school years, he was the 'not so popular kid' in the class. What he admired in life was how he grew up in life, pushing for whatever life demanded. He is very ambitious and believes in 'family-like' teamwork.
