ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Distant vision Malawi

Distant vision Malawi is an initiative that aims at empowering rural young people in Malawi, the ultimate purpose of the organisation is to see every child get inspired, motivated, changed in mindset and helped to fulfil their visions and dreams in their lives. Our moto is;
“Be part of a common cause to transform the young minds for a better and human world for all
The ultimate desire of the initiative is to see every child get inspired, motivated, changed in mindset and start regarding their visions and dreams not as luxuries but something that can be easily attained in their lives. One of our objectives is to enhance the quality of life in rural communities especially among the youth, which are the backbone of every society. We want to equip the youth in rural Malawian society with various life enhancing skills.
Distant vision Malawi is composed of a team of young, intelligent, ambitious and passion driven individuals who collaboratively work to provide a better and an opportune world to young persons, through the introduction of life changing programmes in various areas such as education, ICTs, entrepreneurship, Sports and culture, artistic work expressions, Knowledge and capacity buildings etc. We train youths, we mentor them, and connect them to their role models
Distant Visions, Malawi empowers young people to reach their full potential in all aspects of their lives, we work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders in the society to overcome the vulnerabilities that affect youth almost on daily basis and creating a better world where young people can learn and grow positively to be the agents of positive change in their personal endeavors as well as the society at large.
We strive to help children in rural setups gain a sense of inspiration, motivation and empowerment that encourages them to reach their potential in this opportune world

About the Millennium Fellow

Lubanga Focus Adriano is 23 old year old visionary and talented fourth-year medical student at University of Malawi, College of medicine. He is passionate about helping others, and ever since he enrolled in medical school in 2016, he has coordinated various initiatives, whose aim is help others achieve their goals, create a health and happy environment, where everyone can afford to put a smile on their face. He is a member and Co-founder of many youth led organisation, whose aim is to bring change in the society such as the Young medics reach out and touch team, as well as the MBBS welfare organisation. As part of the other initiatives, Lubanga Focus adriano is one of the organizers of the coronavirus global awareness campaign, whose aim is to bring UpToDate and accurate information, through working with well known researchers from various institutions including Harvard medical school. He is also passionate about research, as such, he has participated in various research seminars. He has strong interest in non- communicable diseases, and currently as part of the fulfillment of his award of the bachelors of medicine, bachelor of surgery degree, he is working on a study investigating the maternal and perinatal outcomes in obese and overweight mothers.
