" Mr Athar was a dedicated member of a communication development club under my supervision. His focus and dedication to leaning always impressed me. His ability to tackle some of the most challenging work was very impressive. besides, he never hesitated to seek any help whenever he faced any challenge. additionally, I was impressed by the way he collaboratively worked with his classmates. Not only that, He believed in teamwork. And this is something i witnessed during group discussions. Other than that, he is honest, intelligent, caring, punctual and gets along with people well.

At some points, i witnessed he had strong willing to help vulnerable children. currently i notice that he has a vision of doing something for the children who are out of basic rights. More specifically, He has a strong desire to do something different related to SDG. It's known to all that, One of the most important of the UN SDG is Quality Education, on which the Athar Noor's project is based. His project title is, Elysium for tomorrow's hope, an education project for marginalized and vulnerable coastal children in Chittagong town from Bangladesh.

If this project can be successfully self-sufficient, the dreams of hundreds of families will change. Specially, I noticed, He is planning to select 75 drop-out children who will be his direct target members. Along with them, their family members will also be indirectly positively influenced as he will work as change makers. So, it can be assumed to make a positive impact on the lives of at least 300 families approximately through the project that he will be implementing.

Athar Noor is the co-founder of this project, so he can easily bring about long term important changes in the society through this acquired leadership qualities. And since he has sincerely believed that ‘EDUCATION FOR ALL’. As his project aims to improve the education level of 75 children initially, I think this will be directly corelated to the UN goal of ‘Quality Education’. And if Mr. Athar's team is able to successfully implement the project, it will work as a milestone for the people of the community and the surroundings. Substantially, people from other communities will also be inspired to run a similar project which will help other out-of-school children to educate themselves.

In the last, as his teacher I have strong confidence he will succeed with flying colors. Moreover, He comes from a humble family who has a consistent tendency to make something big. His hard work and effort will get him whatever he wants to achieve. therefore i can confidently say that he is well deserving for this Fellowship more than ever. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Elysium For Tomorrow's Hope

Community Development Centre (CODEC) is a national NGO in Bangladesh that is implementing an education project for marginalized and vulnerable coastal children in Bagerhat, Bangladesh. We had an opportunity to attend a dialogue session with them through which we came to know about the project. Being motivated by their work and getting some help from them, we are planning to implement such a project in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The children of families who are below the poverty line and have faced problems since the start of COVID will be our main target members. Our main aim would be to bring the dropped-out-of-school children aged between 8-14 into mainstream educational institutions. Initially, we will do a field survey through which we will identify the children in the slum and surrounding areas of Sholoshohor in Chattogram city. Then we will provide them necessary non-formal education and life-skill trainings, eventually helping them to get into formal schools of the city. Through non-formal education we will fill the gap that has been created in their development due to their long time absence from education and through life-skill training, we will be able to help them become better people and be positive influencers in the society they grew up.
