" As a young person who envisions a future where the young are vocal and listened to, being part of a group where everyone encompassed is of similar interests makes me very optimistic on the results that we will make out of this interaction. Having seen the milestones of this Fellowship assures me that this year will be no different but and better and knowing that I will be part of a team that is out for young people makes me know that realization of our set goals nationally and internationally is possible. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Person For Person

Since I come from a humble community,i have grown to see people around me go hungry for days and it gets really heartbreaking when this happens not only to one or two of your peers but a couple. I would really love to change this. To do this I intend to incorporate a group of people that is from 11-24. This clearly shows those will be people in my age bracket and some still in primary and secondary schools. Together, we will come up with a club that I intend to incorporate different income generating activities in line with the participants interests and self building sessions. Some of these will be farming which we will achieve by using the resources around us. In the case we fail to find a larger shamba, we will keep recycling the old containers around us to also help in climate change. This way the issue of hunger will be curbed to some percentage. Also within is we will hold talent shows in different localities where the entry fee or in different events appreciation token will be reimbursed to the participants and that way they will earn something legally that will help them put food on the table at the end of the day. Most importantly I will also hold life skills sessions since I am experienced enough with the participants weekly in different age brackets just so that at the end of it all the issue of immorality in the slum is curbed
