" Margaret Mead once said, "Children must be taught how to think, not what to think," and I firmly stand by this statement. The education system in India is very STEM orientated and rarely unravels soft skills, which are necessary to navigate through different spheres of life. It's even more challenging for underprivileged children to access these resources due to their circumstances—That's where The Project Padhai comes in. With this initiative, I don't want to mold the children in a certain way but rather guide them on how to grow as individuals and demand for their own space. Millennium Fellowship provides perfect opportunity unfold this project. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Padhai Project

The Padhai Project aims to provide underprivileged children with a variety of tools that will assist them in developing soft skills. The entire project is divided into several stages. Stage 1 would include finding different organizations that house underprivileged children and persuading them to collaborate with us. The next goal is to approach professionals in given fields and recruit them to host weekly workshops for these children.
The next step would be to implement the entire project, which would involve the team traveling to the targeted areas and conducting sessions with professionals. Our initial target age groups include children aged seven to ten years old and students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. The younger age group would be engaged with extracurricular activities and non-mainstream subjects. For the older age group, we will arrange career guidance and counseling.
