" Meeting new peiple has always been my favourite task, and when these are like minded people like me, who share a common vision, it gets even better. I believe design is something which can't be executed in a closed room, one needs to go out, interact and collaborate. Meeting and collaborating a similar tribe is what excites me the most. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Khoi

Khoi is an innovative project aimed at addressing the environmental challenge of bagasse waste, a by-product generated by sugarcane juice vendors in India. Often discarded improperly, bagasse contributes to pollution and wasted resources. Khoi offers a sustainable solution by collecting this waste, recycling it into eco-friendly products like cups and straws, and redistributing these items to the same vendors. This creates a circular economy that reduces waste, promotes sustainability, and empowers local businesses.
The project also supports vendors by branding their stalls and guiding them toward adopting eco-friendly practices, thereby enhancing their market visibility and business sustainability. Khoi’s ultimate goal is to reduce environmental pollution, generate employment, and foster a culture of responsible consumption and sustainability. Through partnerships with local communities, government organizations, and eco-friendly businesses, Khoi strives to create a lasting positive impact on the environment and the livelihoods of small-scale vendors.
