Olabisi Onabanjo University Sagamu | Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3, SDG 4, SDG 16 & UNAI 9

" I am thrilled to be a Millennium Fellow because this platform aligns perfectly with my passion for advocating Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 16.
As someone who has witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of healthcare disparities and inequality in Nigeria, I am eager to leverage the Fellowship's network, resources, and expertise to amplify my voice and scale my impact. Through this opportunity, I aim to further develop my leadership skills, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and gain valuable insights to inform my future endeavors, including my aspiration to become a UN Woman and establish a brain wellness organization. I am excited to be part of a community that shares my commitment to creating positive change and shaping a more equitable world. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Birth Bliss : A Mama'S Guide
Birth Bliss, A Mama's Guide" is a pioneering interactive storytelling project designed to inspire positive change. I had the privilege of showcasing this initiative in a school setting, where I emphasized the vital importance of empowering women and promoting their overall well-being.
Through this project, I advocated for quality education on critical issues affecting women's health, including:
1. Ending female genital mutilation (FGM), a harmful practice that violates human rights.
2. Combating gender-based violence, which affects millions of women and girls worldwide.
3. Preventing unnecessary cesarean sections, which can pose serious health risks.
4. Ensuring adequate antenatal care, essential for healthy pregnancies and childbirth.
This ongoing project promises to be a catalyst for community-wide transformation, awakening the entire village to take responsibility for women's and children's health, regardless of age. By engaging teenagers in school, I have laid the groundwork for a broader impact.
Following the completion of This fellowship, I plan to expand the project's reach, engaging a wider audience and fostering a culture of empathy, understanding, and collective responsibility for women's and children's health.
