Millennium Fellowship Project: EmpowerU: Innovating Communities Through Education And Sustainability

The overall aim of EmpowerU is to create a more equitable and sustainable future by educating and empowering students and communities. Through a focus on equality, education, health, and sustainability, we seek to foster a generation that is not only aware of their rights and responsibilities but is also actively contributing to a healthier, more inclusive, and environmentally conscious society.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sonia Ugwunna is an Urban and Regional Planning Student at the University of Lagos. She is very passionate about sustainable urban development cities, and strongly believes in the integration of ecosystem protection and resource management in urban planning.
She leads the projects team at SustyVibes, an environmentally focused non-governmental organisation where she partners with young people in the implementation of affordable, contextual climate solutions in our local communities as well as the enhancement of access to climate knowledge resources and opportunities. With five years experience in environmental advocacy, she has participated in and facilitated projects, fellowships, seminars and programs which focus on the integration of natural ecosystems and circularity in urban planning.
