About our guest speaker:

Erika Amoako-Agyei is an international marketing, sales and communications professional with a track record of securing key clients globally and driving multimillion-dollar revenue growth in highly competitive international markets. In 2016, Erika was selected by Stanford University for a business assignment in Ghana to help advance economic opportunities across West Africa. As part of the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (Seed), she brings the expertise of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the innovation of Silicon Valley to CEOs in Africa. Serving as a Business Coach, Erika works with high-potential entrepreneurs in both East and West Africa to transform their business and create jobs. For nearly a decade, Erika worked internationally for the IBM Corp., starting in the U.S., and then multiple years in Ghana. As IBM country general manager, Erika managed IBM Ghana operations and provided leadership for the company’s re-entry and market expansion into the West African region. Additionally, she supported projects in other nations, including Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, the Gambia, Cameroon and frequented IBM regional head office in Johannesburg, South Africa. Upon returning to the United States, Erika became the director of corporate relations for the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona. She later went into business for herself, founding Africa Intercultural Consulting, a cross-cultural training firm in the U.S. that services global companies expanding into Africa. As a visiting professor, she teaches Conducting Business in Africa to graduate and undergraduate students at the Sam Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. She is author of “Cross-Cultural Management and Organizational Behavior in Africa,” published by John Wiley & Sons (2009), for the Thunderbird International Business Review.
