ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2018

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations. 30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 402 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year.

The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 48,785 hours and their 214 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 393,449 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: GreenLight Solutions

The GreenLight project connects any student interested in sustainability to hands-on applied sustainability-focused projects in the community. The organization brings students of all academic levels and disciplines together to work on these projects and create sustainable solutions. The project's Goals are:

1. Incorporate at least one SDG into the main focus of each project and base KPIs off of that SDG.
2. Complete at least 4 student projects, with deliverables for project partners and other attendees of the semester-end showcase.

About the Millennium Fellow

Aaron LaCourse is a rising Junior at Arizona State University's Barrett Honors College, studying Supply Chain Management, Business Sustainability, and Business Management. He is currently the President of GreenLight Solutions, a student-run organization that connects any student interested in sustainability with various hands-on applied sustainability projects in the community. Aaron's long-term goal is to bridge the gap between what business knows and what sustainability does, eventually helping to integrate sustainability practices into corporations around the world.
