ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2018

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations. 30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 402 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year.

The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 48,785 hours and their 214 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 393,449 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: CEED

CEED is an acronym that stands for community, empowerment, education and development. The organization understands youths as change agents in their community and through Annie’s project of environmental sustainability, she empowers students in Gulu, Uganda to become environmental ambassadors. Annie and her team advance the SDG Goal 13 (Climate Action) and UNAI Principle 9 (Commitment to promoting sustainability through education) by conducting workshops in schools that promote tree planting and sustainable waste management.

About the Millennium Fellow

Born and raised in Montréal, Québec, Canada, Annie is currently studying Political Science with a minor in Contemporary Diversity at Concordia University. She enjoys being involved on campus, acting as both president and member to student associations and activist groups. Annie has completed numerous internships in Canada and abroad, pursuing work in environmental sustainability, policy design, communications, and international development. She is passionate about progressive public policy, grassroots politics, and sustainable development.
