Millennium Fellowship Project: Disability Advocacy Africa
My project is Disability Advocacy Africa. It's aim is to reduce discrimination against people with disabilities in Africa. This was done through various means
(1) Social media campaign via WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
(2) Research projects on disability issues in Africa
(3) Weekly discuss on disability issues in Africa on the WhatsApp platform. Involved both internal and external facilitators.
(4) Lobbying political leaders on favourable policy for individuals with disabilities in Nigeria
Measurement of impact quite difficult to measure as there's still widespread discrimination against people with disabilities in Africa. However we've tried to help out a lot of people with disabilities. They've opened up and we've discussed solutions.
