" As a leader of an inclusion-oriented student group that holds humble leadership and understanding of others dear, I see empathy as the core of all of my work. In a patriarchal world where dominance and power are prized, I find that understanding and living for others brings value to my life and the lives of those around me. I am honored to be held to the high standards of the UN and strive for global change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Voices For Women

Over the course of the semester, Voices For Women, the intersectional feminism student organization, co-hosted 3 events and involved over 4 other student groups on campus and provided menstrual security for 2,482 periods. One of our events was co-hosted with Hillel, the Jewish Studies Department, and Spectrum for the speaker Abby Stein, rabbi trans activist. Another event was hosted with all Center for Inclusion and Campus Involvement organizations for an Open Mic Night were we got to talk about identity and refer to works that were meaningful to us. Our main event was the Sustainable Menstrual Care Product Drive where we received donations for others' menstrual security and we raised over $2000, which went towards 2,040 tampons, 2,412 pads, 36 menstrual cups, 18 pairs of period underwear, and 112 cleaning materials care kits.
