" I believe that being a Millennium Fellow will help me share my ideas with like-minded people who also want to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged people and help them come to life. Being a Millennium Fellow will also help me with impact projects that I envision taking on such as building schools and educating girls in rural India. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Global Education For All/Campus Global Theme Initiative

About the Millennium Fellow
My name is Kavya and I am a sophomore at the University of California, Davis. I am majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and hope to work in the healthcare field in the future as a doctor or a pharmacist. I was born in Seattle, WA, but grew up in Bengaluru, India. I am also an accomplished Carnatic (South Indian Classical) musician and have given several performances in India.
Social service means a lot to me and I have been actively involved in teaching Carnatic music to underprivileged children in India. I am thrilled and honored to become a Millennium Fellow, since it will help me connect with like minded people who have similar goals.
Through our project, Global Education for All, I, along with my teammates, aim to give other UC Davis students an opportunity to learn about the pressing issues faced by different countries so that one day, we may all come together to make the lives of underprivileged people all over the world better.
