UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT ALEJANDRA BENAVIDES, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2018.
Universidad de Monterrey | Monterrey, Mexico | Advancing SDG 4 & UNAI 5
" I'm excited to be a Millenium Fellow because it will allow me to further positively impact, not only my group of students at the Preparatoria Politécnica Santa Catarina, but the rest of the Monterrey community. To me, being Fellow means I get to work and promote the United Nation’s SDG's and UNAI principles, not only on my campus, but in other communities who have never heard of them all of this while providing an education to those who needed most. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Preparatoria Politécnica Santa Catarina (PPSC)
PPSC's objective is to provide higher secondary education to those who come from Santa Catarina’s most needed
neighborhoods. We are working on forming an education model that can be replicated in the different areas of Monterrey’s metropolitan area. We focus on preparing students whose goal is to become agents of change in their own communities, whilst ensuring their incorporation into Mexico’s work sphere.
About the Millennium Fellow
I'm a junior at Universidad de Monterrey studying a double major in Law and International Relations and former student council vice-president. Even though I'm not pursuing a major in education, I'm passionate about teaching.
