" The Millennium Fellowship is an incredible opportunity for us all to better ourselves and our world. We can all learn from one another as we develop our projects.
I am truly humbled and excited to be a part of the Millennium Fellows, and to have this wonderful opportunity to help my university and our local communities. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: P.E.A.C.E. Unlimited
P.E.A.C.E. in Western Sydney is a strategy for Promoting, Educating, Awareness-raising, Campaigning, and Empowering individuals, groups and the community, around Sustainable Development and the capacity we all have to effect lasting, positive change. It is a framework for disrupting unsustainable practices and current ideologies within our University and the broader community. P.E.A.C.E aims to:
PROMOTE via 5 identified internal media platforms targeting students (45,000) and staff (3,000).
EDUCATE on current and future University and SDSN Youth initiatives including Responsible Cafes, Tea Bag Project, Plastic Lids installation and local High School Masterclass programs
Raise AWARENESS across the 5 main campuses personalizing the SDGs to local concerns
Create two CAMPAIGNS:
Challenging the University to re-evaluate current policies, practices and values.
Disrupt current unsustainable consumption and waste practices, i.e., single-use items
EMPOWER students and staff by implementing a new initiative, installing environmentally fact-based challenges related to a minimum of 3 SDGs across 5 main campuses
About the Millennium Fellow
I love learning. I love to better myself, learning new skills and information. I love literature, writing, and art.
I am a bright, bubbly person who loves meeting new people and making people laugh.
I wanted to become a Millennium Fellow so I could learn more about myself and leadership, and especially so I could learn more about the SDGs.
In the future, I am not sure what I want to do career-wise, but I do know that whatever I do, I want to help others.
