Millennium Fellowship Project: Saakiya Foundation
Saakiya Foundation is a community-based foundation whose aim is to provide quality and accessible education to underprivileged students in deprived areas. How we intend doing this is to give stationeries and other learning materials to these students and motivate them to study harder. The foundation is geared towards achieving sustainable development goal 4, quality education. The objective of the foundation is to make learning easier for some disadvantaged students in deprived areas. Also, the project aims at allowing the students to partake in-class exercises and assignments. By September 2020, 15% of disadvantaged students in a deprived area in the Ashanti region of Ghana will have stationeries that they will need for their learning, and the team will carry this. Some of the activities that will be carried out by the foundation will be awareness creation on the importance of education to these students, providing them with stationeries and mentoring them to unleash their talents.
