Millennium Fellowship Project: Decision Center for Educational Excellence Engagement Project

The goal of my project was educate the general public about education disparities that exist in my community. The research center does phenomenal work but it is all for nothing if our community is not using it for its benefit.

About the Millennium Fellow

Cyrus Commissariat is a proud Sun Devil majoring in Political Science, History, and French. At Arizona State University he is a member of the Next Generation Service Corps, an organization committed to fostering the next generation of public servants and leaders. Through this program he has earned a full four year scholarship and has taken classes on leadership and ethics.

While working towards his bachelors degrees he has advocated for public education and further explored his interest in education policy and nonprofit management. His internships at the Arizona Education Association and with Senator Kyrsten Sinema have given him a strong foundation with which to learn more about Arizona’s education system. After completing his internships with the AEA and the Senator, he competed in the Social Ventures Partners inaugural Ed Pitch event. Where he secured a grant which will be used to bring the KidzLit literacy program to Boys and Girls Clubs which interact directly with Native American students.

Cyrus’ goal as a Millenium Fellow is to further his understanding of education policy and become better equipped to address inequalities in Arizona's schools
