" I would love to be a Millennium Fellow
because this is such a unique and
phenomenal fellowship that allows the next
generation of young leaders from all across
the world to come together to form
connections and create a better tomorrow (in
whichever social issue that may be). The
Millennium Fellowship program will allow me
to connect with other student leaders and
expand my knowledge in the causes of global
healthcare issues and focus on finding
possible solutions along with other students
who are also equally as passionate about
these issues. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Student Health Outreach for Wellness Health Initiative

The Student Health Outreach for Wellness (SHOW) Community Health Initiative is a tri-
university student run free clinic with multiple
volunteer outreach arms in Maricopa County,
Arizona aimed to provide integrated primary
care to vulnerable populations. SHOW
partnered with Crossroads, Inc. clinic, to serve
women recovering from substance use
disorders. SHOW also hosts an annual Health
Fair in providing health assessments,
screenings, and informational resources for
individuals experiencing homelessness in
Phoenix. Measurable goals for next semester
can be seen through hosting this Health Fair in
November with the goal of educating and
bringing awareness to individuals experiencing
homelessness and advocate for change. This
event will include health screenings,
assessments and health
promotional/educational outreach programs
held to educate and encourage people to
become more aware and improve their own
health. As a Millennium Fellow, I hope to
expand this project and integrate our ideas
into other student-run free clinics and partner
with other organizations.
