ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

" By being a Millennium Fellow and working with other Fellows, I hope to be influential in dismantling the culture of ignoring and creating injustices; and I can further that Movement in my work in the community. It baffles me how easy it is to be indifferent and not empathize with others. I intend to use this opportunity to discuss and work with other dedicated individuals to make sustainable changes in the world; and educate the dangers of inequitable and inaccessible healthcare issues locally and globally. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Phoenix Allies for Community Health
Phoenix Allies for Community Health (PACH) is a nonprofit dedicated to improving health outcomes in marginalized low-income communities who have minimal access to primary care. PACH is a volunteer-run free primary care clinic in Phoenix, servicing the uninsured. PACH has remained financially sustainable as a volunteer-run free clinic for the past six years, funded solely by individual donations and the proceeds from fundraising events and selling PACH merchandise. Medical professionals throughout Maricopa County donate their services to provide quality healthcare to the uninsured and medically-marginalized. This robust referral network provides low cost or free specialty care when needed. PACH is a humanitarian effort to restore the human right to be healthy. Measurable goals for the remainder of the year include more free film-screenings and discussions surrounding community health issues, a stronger presence at Arizona State University and partaking in multiple public speaking events and conferences.
About the Millennium Fellow
Nargish Patwoary is a student attending Arizona State University and is studying Biomedical Sciences to pursue a career in medicine as a physician in the world of global or public health. She's passionate in challenging the current state of inequitable and non-comprehensive healthcare by promoting the need for cultural-humility, education and accessibility through her community involvement. Nargish is currently involved in several organizations (Secretary of American Medical Student Association, ASU's Women's Coalition, Committee for Campus Inclusion) and clinics (Phoenix Allies for Community Health, Refugee Women's Health Clinic) that combat systemic oppression and social disparities faced by local communities within the realm of health and medicine.
