Each year, the Bentley University Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Center (BSLCE) provides over 1,000 students with the opportunity to apply classroom learning for community benefit in a real-world context. The Center’s 34 separate programs are geared toward addressing issues relating to diversity, poverty, elderly, youth, and sustainability—these programs improve community access to resources and improve the community as a whole. This project would involve a programmatic analysis to determine which Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are currently being addressed through our programs. After this initial analysis, our team would take the 4 months to identify opportunities for these programs to improve the way in which they address SDGs, both in terms of depth and breadth. With this realignment, our programs’ strong partnerships would equip the community to sustainably engage in practices that address these global issues.
