" I am very excited to be part of this amazing program, because I believe that this will help me grow personally and professionally, whilst also giving back to my community. As a person who has always been blessed with everything I need and want, starting from a young age I decided to help others who might have not gotten these opportunities. The Millennium Fellowship will allow me to take a step closer into promoting the respect of human rights, the urge for world peace and the necessity for gender equality in all aspects. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Women in Medicine and STEM

The 'Women in Medicine and STEM' project is dedicated to generating consciousness about the perseption people have regarding the gender which they associate with medicine and STEM. While understanding that this is still a problematic in the XXI century, people will be encouraged to be open minded about the equal capabilies of genders when performing in these and other fields of study and research.

Aims of the project:

*Create flyers for the FIU campus in order to promote inform students about the problems that women face in the fields of medicine and STEM.

*Unite with 1 organization on campus, which will help promote gender equality through activities.

*Identify what other areas of study are having these types of gender inequality problems.

*Inform the different Colleges affected by gender inequality about this, in order to further help improve the motivation of students entering university when choosing their area of study.
