Millennium Fellowship Project: Un Poquito Más
My project focused on combating poverty and raising awareness of poverty in Guatemala. My goal throughout my project was to inspire other millennial and individuals to realize global poverty is a reality and that many children are less fortunate and really lack the means for a formal education. I felt I was successfully able to join forces with student organizations on campus to get my voice heard. I went to meetings with clubs on my campus to discuss ways to host donation drives, tabling events, and truly spread the word of my project. Un Poquito Mas, the name of my project set to collect school donations and monetary aid to a children's school in Guatemala. Although, my project started small, I hope to expand my project to other schools in Guatemala and inspire others to help improve children's education in Guatemala. I truly felt this project helped me become a better leader, steward of justice, and activist for the eradication of poverty. I am beyond grateful for having had the opportunity to participate in such a rewarding experience and fellowship. I look forward to continue developing my project next semester. I am confident this project is just the start of my goals for my future.
