ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sharing Your STEM
Engaging groups of students to travel to Clarkston to work with refugee elementary/middle school students to share STEM experiences with them such as basic programming (e.g. Hour of Code) and 3D modeling/printing, to motivate them to pursue success in school and a future career in STEM. Looking to expand this to other schools in the Greater Atlanta Area to share some of the experiences we at Georgia Tech have on a daily basis that others may not. We hope to also share advice with parents of these students to help them prepare for college admissions.
My goal is to host weekly trips to Clarkston
Community Center and other communities we
can reach in the Greater Atlanta area,
reaching twenty children in Clarkston and over
fifty in other locations.
About the Millennium Fellow
Charlie Ye grew up in Athens, Georgia and attended public school in a low-income community until he graduated and began college at Georgia Tech. He loves music and joined the Army as a saxophonist directly after high school. Charlie has always been passionate about service and has been heavily involved in giving back to the Atlanta community in different ways. At this stage in his education, he has begun taking on more leadership roles in service organizations on campus, including Share Your STEM and Bits of Good.
