ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Campus Kitchens Project
The Campus Kitchens Project is dedicated to fighting food insecurity in the Georgia Tech community primarily through repurposing leftover meals from the campus dining halls. Through the Millennium Fellowship, The Campus Kitchens Project aims to develop a food recovery program for Georgia Tech's Greek organizations as well as implement "on-a-budget" cooking demonstrations in food pantries around the Greater Atlanta area.
About the Millennium Fellow
Lee-Kai Sun is a fourth year Biomedical Engineering student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition to his work with Campus Kitchens, Lee-Kai conducts immunoengineering research under Dr. Gabe Kwong, and was recently awarded the Goldwater Scholarship for his work in engineering T cells for cancer therapy. In the future, Lee-Kai plans to pursue an MD/ PhD in immunology or biomedical engineering, and hopes to integrate his passions for academia and service to improve the human condition.
