Millennium Fellowship Project: Becoming A Mother: A Human Right
This semester I have been working with the Edna Adan Hospital Foundation. The Edna Adan Hospital is located in Somaliland and works toward improving maternal and infant health, advocating against the practice of female genital mutilation and training the next generation of women to become midwives themselves. As a Fellow, I have been assisting with fundraising efforts, helping put the Foundation in contact with free contraceptives in the form of IUDs and arranging for Edna to come speak to fellow students at Georgetown University.
