" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow as it will allow me to connect and learn from other individuals and experts aimed at creating change in their communities and the world at large. I believe that this will provide exposure to other people's ways of thinking, at different scales. Other than that, it excites me to network with people who are committed towards achieving change and learn a thing or two from them. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Jirani Initiative

Jirani Initiative is meant to progress SDG 4, Quality Education for all, targeting community libraries in informal settlements. We chose Wajukuu Library in Mukuru Kwa Njenga as a beneficiary of text books and stationery. Our target was to provide at least 200 primary school and secondary school text books putting into consideration they new curriculum. We carried out fundraising activities such as speed dating and movie night within the University to create awareness on sustainable development goals and the millennium fellowship with an aim to encourage our fellow university students to be more proactive in community work.
