Millennium Fellowship Project: New Generation Mentors

NEWGEN Mentors Club as commonly referred to was established in 2014 by the Kenyatta University Kitui Campus students of Bachelors of Commerce, some who were in the Equity Bank Young Leaders Programme (ELP). They had a common ideology of mentorship and equipping younger students in high schools and other educational institutions just to fill in the vacuum of mentorship that was inadequate in the region and beyond. The club has since grown to become one of the most recognized club by the university, community and society at large due to the efforts of its members to impact on others. Since, the club has partnered with Equity Bank in some activities of mentorship, both in reach and outreach. Furthermore, we have participated in training programmes on both leadership and mentorship and most members are well equipped with skills to conduct interactive, constructive and productive mentorship sessions with people from different walks of life. Also, club members have been trained on corporate and governance affairs in a training organized by Safaricom, Price Waterhouse Coopers(PWC) and ACCA in a forum held in KU Kitui Campus.

The club has since taken part in mentorship activities within Kitui county and beyond including: Tanganyika high School, Kitui School, Kwa Vonza Primary School, a partnership mentorship with Strathmore University to mentor a chain of Catholic Schools within Kitui County, Nyumbani Village Community Outreach, ELP Congress in Nairobi, Muthale Girls, Equity Training Congress in Mombasa and Kwale counties, Kitui Campus clean up initiative during KU Environmental Week, Somesha Mwenzako Initiative to raise funds for needy comrades, Contemporary Issues Debate forums in Kitui Campus, just to mention a few.
Our Core Value include:
1. Empower
2. Love
3. Hope
