ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: BIDIGREEN
Bidigreen is an alternative fuel energy for domestic use that is to replace the traditional charcoal used in most Ghanaian homes. Bidigreen burn three times longer,smokeless and environmentally friendly. It is produced from crop waste residue, unlike the traditional charcoal, in which trees are felled and burnt to produce the charcoal.The felling down of these trees contributes to deforestation and burning them releases gases which cause climate change. Thus, with our innovative method, we provide the same energy without harming the environment. Since its inception in a small village, Bidigreen has seen a tremendous growth and is now a registered business operating under the name Bidigreen Ghana Limited.
About the Millennium Fellow
Joshua Addai Amoah is a Petroleum Engineering student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,Kumasi - Ghana(KNUST).He is a member of the Enactus ( Entrepreneurial Action in Us) team in KNUST that embark on innovative projects in their communities in the spirit of entrepreneurship to impact lives.Among the many projects is Bidigreen, an innovative charcoal.Joshua is very passionate about everything he does especially in impacting the lives of others.He commits to learning for self development, mentorship and volunteering.He believes there is always more to achieve and ever prepared to exhaust all opportunities for improvement of others and himself.
