ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows. 

During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Our Future

Our Future is a project that aims to bridge the chasm between the government's inability to provide quality education, the high cost of education and students that desperately want to succeed but do not have the means. The project provides books and academic materials for students that cannot afford to buy them by recycling used books and other academic materials.

With Our Future, by November 2020, I hope to provide books and academic materials to over 150 students within my university.

About the Millennium Fellow

Khairat Bashorun is a 400 level law student of Lagos State University, Nigeria. Currently, she is a public speaker and volunteers for various organizations including Sustainable Development Goals Advocates (SDGsACT) Lagos State University where she works as Faculty Coordinator.

Khairat is an innovative student leader with the passion to serve humanity selflessly. She believes in making dreams a reality and continually seeks opportunities to improve her leadership skills and make an impact in the development of qualitative education in the world.
