Ladoke Akintola University of Technology | Ogbomosho, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 1 & UNAI 1

" I am excited to be a Millenium Fellow because I've always wanted an avenue where masses' voices can be heard and their handwork will be appreciated.
I am a youth who is so passionate about giving back to the community. I am innovative and I'm very
determined in changing the world to a better place.
My zeal to contribute to the
development of my society drives me to do this work. The rate of unemployment in my community is very high as this bothers me a lot because the rate of poverty is also getting out of hand. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: PASCYCLES
(1) PASCYCLES is a social enterprise that deals
in the conversion of already used plastics into
plastic pellets and then into another plastic bottles and other plastic products. More importantly, we also convert the used plastics to make paving stones and tiles. We achieve this by making use of hydraulic press machines to melt the plastics and then mixed with fine sands and other materials needed.
It is a community service business
called plastic recycling. We convert plastic
waste into wealth.
(2) Our main goal is to enlighten the society about plastic recycling and the harms this non-biodegradable material is causing to our community.
We plan to arrange 4 awareness program about waste recycling in 4 different states after which, there will be trainings and employment of workers(both the skilled and unskilled).
We plan to employ over 400 workers between August to December, 2019.
