ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Boston Queer Public Health Project
The Boston Queer Public Health Project is intended to be an intergenerational, intercultural, and generally comparative community resource coming from critical communication and public health study intended to look at lack of access to care or treatment and disaffirming messaging around health care for LGBTQIAP+ identifying individuals. Ultimately, it hopes to share findings to steer queer folks towards the most affirming providers in the area and is a combination of health communications, public health, and technology that would be a useful addition to any city’s LGBTQIAP+ general resources.
About the Millennium Fellow
Gabriel García is a Politics, Philosophy, and Economics fourth-year with a concentration in Public and Economic Policy, double-majoring in Communication Studies, and minoring in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally from Long Beach, California, they enjoy the East Coast of the United States quite a bit, and plan to stay in the area to pursue a career in public health, education, and academia. Gabe wants to see a world where everyone, regardless of who they are, can get access to affordable, quality, and affirming health care.
