" There's nothing more exciting and promising than a group of people who have come together just for the purpose of supporting each other. That's why I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow-- because I believe that when you connect with those around you, everyone benefits. I'm looking forward to being inspired by the other Fellows, and to offering my support to as many people as possible. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Strong Women, Strong Girld

Strong Women, Strong Girls is a non-profit mentoring organization for girls in the 3rd through 5th grades. This semester, I served both as a mentor and as the Finance Coordinator for the Northeastern chapter. In this role, I oversaw and managed the budget and related expenses, as well as created and distributed apparel for the chapter.

About the Millennium Fellow

MacKenzie Nekton is a junior at Northeastern University majoring in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics with a minor in Law and Public Policy. MacKenzie grew up in rural Northern California, in a town with more trees than people. In addition to being a dedicated student and a growing activist, MacKenzie loves cooking, long walks, and the smell of the earth just after in rains. This is her second year as a Campus Director at Northeastern University.
