Northeastern University | Massachusetts, United States | Advancing SDG 4 & UNAI 3
" As a fellow, I am personally motivated to work harder to help more students. As an aspiring lawyer interested in the field of education law, I am excited to further the impact of my organization’s personal finance curriculum on our community of Boston Public School students by making the curriculum more relevant and better measuring the effects of our work. I am thrilled to have the United Nations’ support and training behind our efforts. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Finance for the Community
Finance For the Community is a student-run service organization whose mission is to provide financial literacy education to school districts lacking formal personal financial courses in their curriculum, including the Boston Public School system. Our hope is that every student we teach understands how to create a budget, save and invest for the future, and use credit wisely. We teach 3 modules of curriculum at 3-5 public schools every semester. This semester, our goals were to add surveys to better quantify our progress, to redevelop our curriculum to make it more relevant to the students we teach, and to apply for grants.
