ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows. 

During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Threads for Twelve

I hosted a clothing drive on-campus to benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation. The event was hosted in conjunction with the UN Association at Northeastern, and sought to draw a connection between the drive and SDG 12. The event featured faculty guest speakers about the SDG, the ethics of consumption, and the work of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sydney is a junior at Northeastern University studying Political Science & International Affairs. She minors in Arabic, and has studied in Jordan to advance her language skills. Currently, she is developing research into the cross-border displacement of people displaced by climate change and related events. After graduation, she hopes to spend time traveling before venturing into the field of diplomacy to help solve the problems that she now researches.
