" One of the life’s many struggles is to give meaning and purpose to one's existence; and my drive to contribute to my community comes from striving to realize my own purpose. Being a Millenium Fellow is a crucial step in my journey to realize my purpose. Navigating through a harsh society, the devotion to contribute to the SDGs give me a combined sense of responsibility and fulfilment which keeps me motivated to play my part. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Al-Qalam

Project Al-Qalam is run by NUST's community services club, NCSC. Its aim is to put excluded children whose families can't afford their education, in schools. It does so by collecting monthly donations of PKR 100 from the staff, faculty and students on campus and reimbursing the fee of the children registered with the project. The Project's outreach team regularly visits low-income areas to survey if there are any children who can benefit from the project. It is estimated that more than 150 children will be directly benefiting from this project during August-December 2019.
