ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows. 

During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

" Millennium Fellowship provides me with an opportunity to realize my dream of maximizing the role of youth in social dynamics by informing and mobilizing them. I have been on the receiving end for 20 years of my life and now I want to serve my community and by being a part of this global community of change makers, I can play my constructive role more efficiently. Seeing the youth playing a substantial role towards betterment of humanity is a wonderful experience. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Youth Perspective

Youth Perspective is a long term project that aims to:
1. Put together a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum to work on the capacity building of the university students by teaching them the writing skills and basics of activism and sustainability.
2. Form a community of writers that'll dissect the social problems impeding the society's journey to sustainability by indicating in the direction of possible and viable solutions.
3. Work with university administration to form a center to help the coming student led initiatives.

About the Millennium Fellow

Hafsa Zafar is a senior at University of Sargodha studying International Relations. She switched to social sciences after studying Electrical Engineering for 3 years. She started her writing career as a freelance content writer and has since served as the Director Publications in Youth Entrepreneurial Society(YES, SEECS Chapter), Editor in Chief for ACM-W, SEECS Chapter and is currently the President of Writing Club in University of Sargodha overlooking publications in the department. She has also volunteered for community service initiative, Ed-volution (Education for Evolution) by teaching the children in slums and also served as a mentor for intermediate students seeking UG Education Opportunities. Apart from that, she also served as a Marketing Intern with Asas International promoting Inclusive Education. She is a member of the National Youth Assembly of Pakistan and is very enthusiastic to use her position to promote political activism in youth, especially women.
