United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Pathway to Citizenship
Provide an accessible and digestible outlook on accessing citizenship, what’s necessary to pass the test and general information regarding the process itself. Would like to expand the interactive seminar into a 6-week long summer program. Open to Long Island, discounts for Stony Brook students/faculty. Each week would focuses on a different part of the process and contain mock examinations, QandA sessions with people who underwent the process, and study materials.
About the Millennium Fellow
Husbaan Sheikh is a rising sophomore at Stony Brook University, pursuing a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Journalism. On-campus, he works diligently as a committee co-lead for the Center for Civic Justice, where he provides support for his peers. With the CCJ he works to get students registered to vote as well as talking about pressing issues through Community Dialogues and hosting other events on campus. Husbaan has also been involved in Model United Nations, including participating in NHSMUN conferences, which have helped mold his passion for youth advocacy, international affairs, and civic justice. He also provides on-site support for his local district office and is part of the Sigma Beta honor society.
