" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it is an opportunity that will allow me to grow as a leader, make new connections, and have fun pursuing my passions at the same time. This Fellowship gives me a platform to share my ideas as well as develop and implement innovative solutions that will benefit people and the planet. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Plastic-Free Project (PFP)

The Plastic-Free Project (PFP) is a multidisciplinary, student-led team building a university platform for an establishing sustainable, eco-conscious lifestyle among college students. PFP serves to educate, challenge, and inspire college students to shift from conventional to conscious living, helping them leave positive, plastic-free impacts on the world’s oceans and natural environment. PFP calls all students to participate in a 21-day plastic-free challenge. Students who participate will be asked to complete different tasks each day, most of which will require the use of social media and online platforms. Participants will also be given the opportunity to compete for various eco-prizes, and opportunities to share what they’ve learned through their plastic-free experience with others. PFP aims to reach at least 5,000 college student participants through the Plastic-Free Challenge. PFP hopes to contribute to a more sustainably bright future for our planet, one student at a time.
