ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows. 

During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: ECO-DISCOVERY (CLIMATE CHANGE EFFECTS ON PLANTS AND ITS ENVIRONMENT)

The Project centered on SDG 6 and 13.
That of SDG 6 was done on world clean up day and we ensured that we carried out clean up excersie around some specific dumpsites and around campus. After the end of the clean up exercise we had an awareness section telling campus student the need for a clean environment and how it affects not just our environment but also humans living around the environment.
That of SDG 13
Was more of a seminar session where I talked on the effect of climate change on arable crops production and agriculture, how climate change leads to land degradation, food insecurity and how possible best it can be curb in terms of agriculture.

About the Millennium Fellow

Godspower Omokaro is a final year student of University of Benin, from the department of soil science and land management. He is currently serving as a financial secretary in his school department. He grow up in a small town called Ughelli, gained his primary education at Iwhreko Primary School and obtained his secondary education in Government College Ughelli.
He has obtained various certificates among which are Scriptwriting from Africa International Film Festival and International Committee of the Red Cross here in Nigeria.
