ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: EducateTheAfricanWoman project
The project involved going to secondary schools to educate the young girls from senior secondary 1 to senior secondary 2. The girls were very eager to learn . Secondary was focused on because we believe that nurturing their young minds will make us acheive our goal more effectively. The young girls were very attentive and they responded by saying "no to bleaching creams and harmful chemicals for hair. The outcomes were positive as the young girls who had already started using them then stopped.
About the Millennium Fellow
Sandra Obaseki is a sixth year student in the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Benin. She is currently the owner of a brand,Strands Naturelle where she focuses on promoting the use of natural products by manufacturing these products in the most efficient and healthy ways. She has succeeded in doing this so far,as the persons in her society has benefited from it. Sandra aspires to also work with the Sustainable goal, decent work and economic growth to provide more jobs especially for youths in her country. She has also served as a leader in the Pharmacy research club in her institution.
Sandra believes that her success story will depend solely on the impact felt by those around her and aspires to work diligently in this line.
