ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows. 

During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because this platform will enable me self my community more by learning from expert and also amplify my voice by drawing the attention of the world towards the Boy Child for the creation of balance.

The need for peace and vices free community can never be over emphasized. According to SDG'16, 'vices and insecurity have a destructive impacts on a country development and image..'
In my community, boys are the major perpetuators of various violence and crimes happening.
For instances,97% of persons in prison are boys,both young and old.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Goal 400-500

On may 16th,we lunched The Masforce Initiative which is focused on the boy child advocacy by organising an event to mark the International day of boys which was held in conjunction with Students Guidance and counseling center and Student Union Government of my school. We had over 120 participants. We also carried out secondary school tour in two different local government in my community which we tagge "Promoting the culture of peace and non violence".We were able to speak with the boys the need for them to be an advocate of peace in other to have a sustainable community. We have a bio data of some of the students that we are planing on reaching out to specifically on our next projects by 2020 .

About the Millennium Fellow

Ugwuozor Augustine Obinna is a penultimate year Medical Laboratory Science student of the prestigious University of Benin.
He is a returning member of the Student Union Government Senate,where he represents this department as well as his faculty in policy making. Currently he is serving in the capacity of the Chairman on Academics and Examination Ethics Committee.
He is a Fellow of UNIBENSDGs Champion which focuses on domesticating the SDGs in Nigeria Tertiary Institutions and aim to discover and implement innovations for realization of the Global Goals.
He is an ambitious and passion driven individual committed to self development, community development and good leadership.
