ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship.  In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations.  69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows. 

During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sustainable Development Advocates

SDA UNILAG (Sustainable Development Advocates, University of Lagos) is an organisation that aims at promoting and teaching the Sustainanble Development Goals (SDGs) within and outside the campus by patnering with organisations that are implementing the SDGs consciously or uncounsiouly. The SDGs awareness program being our major program seeks to combat people's ignorance of the SDGs. Between August and November 2020, about 8000 people will get enlightened about the SDGs. They will also be sensitised on the urgent need for them to actively play a part in the achievement of these 17 global goals.

About the Millennium Fellow

Mubarak Olaleye is a 300 level student of sociology at University of Lagos. He is presently the treasurer for his departmental association. Aside the academic field, Mubarak is very passionate about volunteering jobs, especially those linked with the SDGs, this explains why he is a member of different association on campus that work on advancing the SDGs. He believes that no man has fully achieved until he gives back to his society.
