UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT SEGUN IGE, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2019.
University of Lagos | Lagos, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 4 & UNAI 6
" To be sure, the very vocabulary that governance SHOULD be pro-people and pro-active and corruption-free is not easy to come by, after all. But indeed, I'm humbly pround to be a Millennium Fellow of class 2019. At best, therefore, at the end of the Fellowship, I would not have only been a graduate of first-class, even world-class, leader, but also that I would have been so great an immense avater of the burgeoning pestilence of poor, or shall I say putative, practice of democracy, now on my CAMPUS and fairly later in my COUNTRY and on the GLOBE. About the Millennium Fellow
Segun Ige is a final-year student of English, Department of English, Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, Akoka-Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. Up to now, he is a member of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and also a member of VoicesAfrica. Surely, YALI has significantly contributed to his leadership skills and schooling in one way or another. Through the online courses offered by YALI, on the one hand, and the service volunteers, on the other, I have acquired very applicable 'skilled- leadership' and 'servant-leadership' principles. In short, I am a resource for community organisations; a contender for the unconscionable 'fate' of dispossessed and disenfranchised hoi polloi, thereby creating a life-transforming and long-lasting 'constitutional' human rights; and finally, an astute apostle of freedom, transparency, and equaliity.
