" Being a Millennium Fellow will give me a wider pool of opportunity to network with other great students working on similar project, so as to synergies and learn from one another then implement the knowledge gained locally in my community. Also Millennium Fellowship is a global platform that could give my project international recognition which could attract more stakeholders to my project. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: PassionIT

PassionIT focuses on youth development and sensitization of youths against cyber crime in Nigeria. The annual increment of youths into Cyber Crime in Nigeria was what inspired this project. We collaborated with schools, radio stations and NGOs to create awareness and discover why youths are into this act with provision of solutions to curb this act in Nigeria and also help youths discover their passions and align them to technological skills so as to become financially independent and economically stable. Besides, after taking an online campaign of why youth were into this act, we discovered that Nigerian Value System had been negatively influenced, so we also encourage parents and families to inculcate a right value system and not to give accolades to unknown sources of wealth. We are also working on ensuring that youths h align what they love doing with equivalent skills so as to become self employed and provide more job opportunities for the country. So far, we had impacted over 1000 youths and now at the equipping them with skills stage.
